The GSLIS Tech Lab in Boston will be offering a free workshop on Setting up a LAMP Server.

Linux, Apache, MySQL, and PHP (known collectively as LAMP) are the tools that power many web servers.

This workshop is aimed at anyone interested in setting up a web server.

We'll cover what the components of a LAMP server are and how they work together to serve websites.

We'll also go through the process of installing an Ubuntu Linux server and look at similar toolkits available for Windows and Mac OS X.

Please note:

  • GSLIS students, staff, faculty, and alumni are welcome
  • each session of the workshop will cover the same material

If you have any questions, please email the workshop series staff at workser@simmons.edu.

Thank you and we hope to see you there,

Your friends at the GSLIS Tech Lab in Boston
